Publication Ethics

The International Journal of Integrated Legal Systems (IJILS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.

  • Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals is unethical and unacceptable.

  • All sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

  • Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical and legal standards, particularly in studies involving human participants or sensitive data.

  • All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and approve the final version for submission.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not use information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.

  • Editors must take responsive measures when ethical complaints are presented concerning a submitted or published paper.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide constructive feedback without personal criticism.

  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not share or use manuscript content for their own purposes.

  • Reviewers must disclose any conflict of interest and decline to review if such conflicts exist.

4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

  • The publisher will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication misconduct.

  • In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, IJILS will take appropriate actions, including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

IJILS follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and expects all parties to adhere to these standards to maintain academic integrity and trust in the scholarly record.
